Although Kingdom Hearts is one of the most popular games to come out for consoles, only 2 of the many game releases of the series have made it to the XBOX and Playstation. Birth by Sleep and Re:Coded, were solely for Nintendo DS and PSP. Because of the PS4 and the future release of XBOX ONE , the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 has been pushed back. Kingdom Hearts 3 will now take longer to produce and will have a later release date.

Let’s cross our fingers that the extra time means that they are not only optimizing the game for the new consoles, but making sure that the graphics and content are superb.

Till when will it be postponed, do you ask? No idea.

If you’ve ever played Kingdom Hearts, you know that the games have amazing graphics and enough story to leave you sleepless for weeks. This makes the pushback understandable. The optimization would have to be extremely time consuming. But it feels like Kingdom Hearts fans have to wait a ridiculous amount of time just to get a new game. Kingdom Hearts 2 was released in 2006, we are going on 7 years of waiting now.

The good news is that they will be releasing Kingdom Hearts II.5 remix in 2014 for the PS3. It is a rehash of games already released with bonus scenes, which were previously available to Japan exclusively. It isn’t a brand-new game, but its what we got.

II.5 remix includes: KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX and KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX as well as HD Remastered Cinematics from KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded
