While other high school teenagers were taking their summer vacations, watching the latest movie or cooling off at the local pool, Sisko-Anthony Cruz was in the heart of New York City at an internship at Atlantic Records. At the young age of 16, the future stellar entrepreneur had opened the door to a prosperous future after being granted admission in an internship program that trained him for months on the significant components of the entertainment industry before giving him hands-on experience at a notable record label.
This promising internship gave Cruz the opportunity to meet key industry leaders, most noteworthy, the Marketing Director of Vibe magazine at the time. Cruz boldly asked for his business card and maintains a relationship with him to this day, an example of his ability to nurture the value of networking and cultivate relationships. Having found his passion, he graduated with a B.A. in Mass Media Communications from SUNY New Paltz. Cruz then took his skill for forging connections and jumpstarted a career that could only be founded by someone with the ability to meld with individuals, building fruitful relationships and thus creating a nexus of contacts and confidantes.
As the current Multicultural Public Relations Director for Ford and Lincoln Motor companies, Cruz has a vast and diverse work history working with Fortune 500 clients across automotive, entertainment, spirits, food, and personal care brands. Cruz has been working in the industry for more than 13 years and has worked with an impressive list of clients that have enlisted his skills in their creative endeavors and corporate consulting. He boasts names such as Sony Television, Nike, Delta Airlines, L’oreal Paris, Chivas Regal, as part of his clientele roster. Cruz has made a name for himself leading award-winning campaigns targeting diverse audiences such as women, and African American and Hispanic millennials.
Recognized for his brand building and award-winning campaigns, it is no surprise that his work in the multicultural community is also exemplary. His philanthropic efforts include yearly Thanksgiving grocery giveaways to the Hispanic community in Washington Heights, the renowned Buckle-Up for LOVE (Abrochate por Amor) campaign teaching children the importance of always wearing a seatbelt, and holiday toy drives that provide underprivileged children with gifts during the festive time of year by spreading the message of love and joy.
No great skill goes unnoticed, and Cruz is no stranger to being recognized for his talents. He has received a number of awards that have emphasized his milestones. In 2008, Cruz received the International Radio and Television Society Foundation: Emerging Professional Leader Award and was the Park Performing Arts Center: Community Champion. The following year he was recognized as MTV Tr3s: Cooltura ambassador. Known for meeting and surpassing goals, he became an award recipient of The Hispanic Coalition of NY’s 40 under 40. Following this honor, he also received an award from the Hispanic Public Relations Association Bravo Awards for Non-Profit campaign of the year. Most recently, he became the recipient of the Hispania Network: Community Leader award.
