After so many renditions of the beginning of vampire life, I’m happy to say that I’m actually interested in seeing the upcoming movie, Dracula Untold.
Unlike past movies, “Dracula Untold” will solely focus on the origins of Dracula, something that I’m used to catching a small summary of. Bram Stoker’s Dracula is the closest we have ever been to a full life story and it will be interesting to see the spin on the story that this movie will take.
What really teases us in this first look is Charles Dance’s unknown vampire character. If you’ve seen Dance in Game of Thrones, you know that his performance as the elder bad guy, Tywin Lannister, was epic. It seems that he plays a vampire figure that passes on his power to Dracula, played by Luke Evans most recently known for playing Bard in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in order for him to to continue the vampiric legacy. But if Dracula is not the first vampire, who was and how did it all come about?
Dracula Untold will be in theaters this October.
