The Disney Cinderella movie is trying to spread love in the world through world kindness day. If you haven’t seen Cinderella the movie and you are a total Disney fanatic, like me, read my review [here].
To quickly recap: It’s the cartoon version come to life, with not too much made up additions made by the writers. To me, it was perfect. Even though I am myself a writer, I have an attachment to original stories, and reboots, always seem to ruin the original (along with my childhood) with something ridiculous. Actually, sometimes its only a tad adjustment and I go crazy like: “That WASNT in the original” Yea, I’m definitely territorial with original works I enjoy.
As I said in my review, I loved that some of the creative additions from the script writers and director in the Cinderella movie, included the justification for Cinderella enduring her step-family’s treatment. I think in the past, we all just figured Cinderella remained a slave to her Stepmother because she just had no place to go. But this new movie introduces Cinderella’s mother’s final words to be guidance in life: Have courage and be kind.
In a world that’s become so cynical, I think that this simplistic view on life is perfect. It shows that Cinderella was exhibiting COURAGE and attempting to tough it out and remain kind.
In celebration of the Digital HD and Blu-ray release of Disney’s “Cinderella” on September 15, 2015, Walt Disney Studios will launch the “A Million Words of Kindness” Campaign, inspired by the movie.
