If there is only one thing that you look into on the NY auto show this week, let it be the concept car that has JUST BEEN ANNOUNCED! The new concept Lincoln Navigator Concept is a sight to behold in Lincoln’s ever strong campaign of quiet luxury and I must say that this time around this car is bringing Lincoln to the forefront of the luxury SUV line.
I had the pleasure of having a preview of the car before it’s release. I’ve been fighting for two days with the urge to scream about this SUV from a rooftop somewhere. I’m not going to overwhelm you with spec details, that can be dealt with later. Let’s just get right to the showstopper itself, GULL WING DOORS AND CONCERTINA STEPS.
I’ll give you a moment to take that in. The new Lincoln Navigator concept features an incredibly sleek and sexy design, a massive amount of room, and Gullwing doors and concertina steps. It is a beauty to behold as the doors gracefully swoop overhead and the steps tumble smoothly from its hidden compartment. I also lost my breath watching as everything neatly folded itself back into place.

This is probably one of the most attractive design of SUV of it’s size, and the doors and steps just add such elegance. The Lincoln Navigator concept car was inspired by luxury sailboats and yachts, which explains why thus far it is the best looking SUV of it’s kind.
This SUV carries all the signature features of the yet to be released Lincoln Continental. That includes the 30 way seats, superb revel audio system, and collision and pedestrian smart technologies, that have brought such attention to the Lincoln Continental.
Here are a few of the details that sweeten the pot:
- 3.5 – liter twin turbo V6 engine with over 400 horsepower
- Drivers can choose from different drive modes for improved handling
- Custom Wardrobe Management System holds gear chosen for a day on the water
- The signature Lincoln welcome lighting sequence
- 360 camera park assist
